Hard to argue with those picks. I would add this gem from Music City.

I have to agree with the one's I'm familiar with. The 10/1/76 from Market Sq. is ridiculous. Is that really an aud? 2/27 and 5/8/77 are nice but can't hold a candle to that Market Sq. recording. Thanks for the list!

I have always LOVED 10/01 and I still think it's among the best of the year. The super sweet 24B aud only enhances it like caps said. H>S>F from hell and what a jam that Slip is, with a nice little Moondance kinda tease tucked in there.

Always looking for tips. Thanks.

I'm not sure I can agree with you on the 9-6-80 source > http://archive.org/search.php?query=creator%3A%22Grateful%20Dead%22%20AND%20date%3A1980-09-06*&;sort=-downloads (By dl count)

Lots of sources and no definitive one for a really solid show. My pick is the least dl (the Hance/Turi source), so I probably have weird ears: but I think the Wise/Miller, Nak dragon and Rolfe/Miller all sound a bit better than Friend source.

to micaha6vs8 the Hance Turi is a great recording but it's got 'the clap'...as apposed to most soundboard- with the too distant audience..
it's sometimes tricky deciding what sounds best..
the archives is a wonderful place -
it's certainly renewed my love of the GD...

I love that show... 80-09-06 I'll take another look at it.
my computer has a tiny speaker so I need to burn a CD to get the full effect...after 2-3 yrs of downloading here-I'm still changing my mind >*<

thanks everybody for all the thoughtful replies

I totally missed your review below mine. But, I remembered a reviewer who didn't like the claps with this show, I just didn't put them together. Memory is a funny thing. What we think we know.. What we think others know...

I bet that many folks (in general and including me) listen to GD on worse equipment then back in the day, i.e. computer speakers instead of an old school stereo system.
